✦ Before Your Session

Before your session.
What to know.

The questions people actually ask before they book.

Not being photogenic isn't a personality trait — it's what happens when no one's guiding you. Every session at Speak Pixels starts before the camera ever comes out. We talk, we get you comfortable, and I direct every single pose and expression. The people who walk in most convinced they'll hate their photos are usually the ones who can't stop looking at them afterward.
We plan this together before your session — so you're never guessing. As a general rule: solid colors, rich textures, and clothes that actually fit you photograph beautifully. Avoid busy patterns and large logos. Bring at least two outfits. The goal is simple: you on your best day. Not a costume version of you. I also keep a growing studio wardrobe you're welcome to pull from.
We start with a consult — a free Zoom conversation where we talk through what you're looking for, what feels scary, and what success looks like for you. On session day, we ease in. No rushing, no awkward posing in the first five minutes. I guide you through everything — where to look, how to stand, what to do with your hands. Your only job is to show up. I handle the rest.
Typically 4–6 weeks out. Right now I'm taking sessions for April–May 2026 in my Rockwall, TX studio — serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Spots are intentionally limited so every session gets my full attention. If you've been thinking about it, now is the time to reach out.
Absolutely. Some of the strongest work in this portfolio belongs to men — executives, musicians, creatives, entrepreneurs. The camera-shy thing isn't gender-specific, and neither is the result. If you want portraits that actually look like you at your best, you're in the right place.
Good — it means you care. Nervous is normal and it usually disappears within the first few minutes. I've never had a session where someone stayed nervous the whole time. The consult helps too — by the time you walk in on session day, we've already talked, you know what to expect, and it feels a lot less like a big deal. That's by design.
